Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
The ACFI is the new Aged Care Funding Instrument introduced in March 2008 for determining the level of care payments for residents in aged care homes. Along with the new funding instrument, new categories of fuding were also introduced.

The new method was designed to better match the needs of people with dementia and those with complex health care needs.

This short course is designed to enable the health care professional to better understand the model and instrument and therefore derive greater benefit from care payments that are more closely aligned with residents care needs. This will be based on examining the three funding categories of:
  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Behaviour Supplement
  • Complex Health Care Supplement.

All personnel in Commonwealth approved providers of residential aged care.

Content

The workshop presents:

  • The results of the national trial of the ACFI
  • The model to be adopted
  • Business rules
  • The domains and scales used in the assessment tool

Course Benefits

Participants will have orientation to the Aged Care Funding Instrument and the outcomes of changes to the instrument as a result of the trial. Participants will be able to consider and discuss the issues the new funding model will have for their facilities.

1 day course at Mayfield from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
