• Cited VETASSESS test completed in last 3 months or;
• Successful Mayfield Education Nursing test (literacy and numeracy)
• Interview
• Police check
• Immunisation status required

• Deliver basic nursing care to older clients (HLTEN414A)
• Deliver nursing care to acute care clients (HLTEN415A)
• Apply effective communication skills in nursing practice (HLTEN502A)
• Contribute to the complex nursing care of clients (HLTEN505A)
• Administer and monitor medications in the work environment (HLTEN507A)
• Apply legal and ethical parameters to nursing practice (HLTEN509A)
• Implement and monitor nursing care for clients with chronic health problems (HLTEN513A)
• Apply first aid (HLTFA301B)
• Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers (HLTHIR403B)

Course Benefits

Upon successful completion of this training, you will be eligible to apply for registration for Division 2 Certificate IV Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) with the Nurses Board of Victoria (NBV).

 

Delivery
• On site at Mayfield Education, Hawthorn and Caulfield campuses
• Clinical placement in full week blocks

Commencing 12 April 2010
12 – 23 April; Every Friday thereafter

Assessment
Students are assessed against specific performance criteria for each unit of study. Assignments, written tests and examinations, a reflective journal and a clinical experience competency workbook. You are required to successfully complete all theoretical and clinical components.

Award
Nationally Recognised Certificate

Learning Pathway
Some course credit is offered to RN2 Certificate IV Nursing nurses upon entry to a Division 1 nursing course.
Units of competency leading to Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
