Continence Management Strategies – 3 day short course

Incontinence is a common condition affecting over 2 million Australians, and often the cause for admission of older people into emergency departments and residential care. Management of urinary and faecal incontinence requires systematic problem solving and this course promotes the assessment, prevention and implementation of strategies to improve continence.

Designed for
Health carers, including personal care attendants, all registered nurses, allied health staff and aged care supervisors and managers.

Course Content
• Causes of incontinence
• Identifying methods of prevention
• Practical aspects of managing continence problems
• Use of appropriate interventions: devising a continence program
• Correct use of aids and appliances
• Networks and resources

3 days at Mayfield Education from 9.00am to 4.30pm
