Wound management practices have undergone significant change and innovation as a
result of an increased understanding of the physiology of wound healing. This course promotes
holistic best practice wound management based on clinical research to reduce wound healing time and eliminate unnecessary patient pain.
You will develop a theoretical and practical knowledge framework to assist you in
meeting clinical practice standards in wound management for your workplace.

Division 1 and 2 Registered Nurses who work in specialty areas, acute medical and surgical
environments, community-based services, aged care or rehabilitation facilities.

- The wound healing process
- Differentiation of acute and chronic wounds
- Recognition and management of infection
- Pressure risk assessment
- Wound assessment and dressings
- Developing a wound management protocol
