Return-to-Practice Program for Division 2 Nurses
Entry Criteria
Please see the attached Return to Practice Enrolment Steps document to ensure you complete all documentation satisfactorily.
• Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (HLTFA301B)
• Letter of approval from NBV (no letters being issued by AHPRA)
• Attendance at Information Session
• Interview
• Police check
• Resume with 2 referees
• Immunisation status
Training Program Comprises:
• New technologies
• Evidence based nursing care
• Occupational health and safety
• Infection control
• Wound management
Delivery
• Two days per week for 6 weeks plus clinical placement
• 80 hours theory: 8.30am to 4.30 pm at Mayfield Education
• Structured learning offsite
• 160 hours of clinical placement (20 days)

Intake 1: Commencing 4 March 2010
4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 March; 8, 9, 15, 16 April 2010 (plus 20 days of clinical placement)
Intake 2: Commencing 5 August 2010
5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 August; 2, 3, 9, 10 September 2010 (plus 20 days of clinical placement)
Assessment
Students are assessed against specific performance criteria for each unit of study. Tests, assignments and clinical experience logbook. Both the theory and clinical component must be successfully completed.

Learning Pathway
Mayfield Education structures this course for the Return to Practice student, when qualified, to articulate into Medication Endorsement for Division 2 Nurses (HLTEN507A and HLTAP501A).

The Royal Callege of Nursing administers a Nurse Scholarship Program for those wishing to return to practice. You will need to check the RCNA website for information regarding scholarships for 2010.
