Return to Study – Half day short course
This course is designed for those who are thinking about returning to study AND those who have recently enrolled in a formal study program. This short course will be especially helpful to those who have not undertaken study in the last 7 years or have not previously undertaken study since high school.
• Working in health care as a health care professional or studying a course to work towards same.
• Those who have not completed a formal study program for some time.
• Those who may be planning to return to study in the knowledge that learning and development has undergone several positive changes.
Course Content
- Self-review of preferred learning style
- Adult learning and contemporary learning methods
- How to organise yourself and those around you in order to achieve the best study outcomes
- Study skills
- Using advanced resources such as electronic search devices and the internet
- Advanced reading skills
Course Benefits
This short course will enhance the participants understanding of studying in 2012. The course recognises the variety of learners and the trepidation that many people experience when returng to study. This course may enhance confidence in the participants and provide them with the tools to complete their studies.
On completion, particiapnts will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and organise self and others to achive positive study outcomes
- Develop skills in constructive coping strategies related to dealing with the stress of participaing in study
- Attain an understanding of adult learning and how this relates to blended learning approaches
A half day session at Mayfield Education from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm
